1 Cor 7: 32-34 NLT - I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to please him. But a married man has to think about his earthly responsibilities and how to please his wife. His interests are divided. In the same way, a woman who is no longer married or has never been married can be devoted to the Lord and holy in body and in spirit. But a married woman has to think about her earthly responsibilities and how to please her husband.

Genesis 2:24 ESV - Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Proverbs 18:22 ESV - He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 NKJV - Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is his heritage. As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. For he will not dwell unduly on the days of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.”

Lord thank you for opening my eyes and my understanding. I confess I have viewed the singleness as a curse. This has caused my focus to be on the wrong thing and to doubt myself and You. I am sorry for this and repent for believing this lie and putting my desires over your purpose. I believe my singleness is a gift during this season. It is a chance for me to be secure in you, care and do work for God, and to be holy in my body and spirit. I ask that you make the truth of my singleness real to me through your word and my relationship with you. Thank you for forgiving me and restoring me to my rightful place. Amen
